This year, we will be the guests of the York Medical Society for The Burgon Society Annual Congregation and Presentation of New Fellows. Also learned society, the YMS was founded in 1832 for the “purpose of promoting and diffusing medical knowledge”. Its rooms and beautiful walled gardens are at 23 Stonegate, York. Built about 1590, the greater part of the structure is Elizabethan and is one of the larger timber-framed houses to have survived in the city. Our programme will also include presentations on the academic dress of York St John University and the University of York and a tour of the Society’s Rooms. There will also be the opportunity to hear presentations of some recent successful FBS submissions.

York is readily accessible from other parts of the country. The day will run from 11am until 4:30 pm; further details circulated to members by email in due course and bookings can be made in the Members Area here:
